We would like to send out a
special thanks to our veterinarian Dr. Laney Rhymes and his
staff at the Parkway
Clinic. Dr. Rhymes always goes out of his way to help
rescued animals. We are lucky to have such a dedicated
doctor to help our rescue!
The following breeder sold puppies over the Internet. Another example of why you should never purchase a dog over the Internet, or from a Pet Store. Please watch and spread this information to anyone you know. Thank you!!!
Shih Tzu & Precious Paws Rescue is a group
of dedicated volunteers committed to the rescue of homeless companion
animals. Most of the animals are rescued from desperate situations
including euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect or puppy mill rescue.
Rescued animals are placed into foster homes, until suitable homes are
screened and become available. Promoting education about Puppy Mill
abuse, spaying\neutering, proper health care, nutritional requirements
is always an ongoing priority for our group. All animals in our care are
spayed, or neutered and receive the necessary medical attention. We
strongly believe that all animals deserve to be treated with respect and
dignity in all circumstances.
You can make a
difference. Please consider fostering. Click

It's with great sadness we bring the news of Moe's passing. He was adopted by Darlene seven years ago and lived a wondedful life in the care of Andre and herself. Please click on the link below to read a wonderful tribute to Moe.

Waverly
was found by a VA rural shelter animal control officer circling
round-and-round in the middle of a country road. She was in
extremely poor condition - blind from several years of untreated
dry eye, matted and filthy, overgrown toenails, and obviously
suffering from an untreated heart condition. She was very scared,
distressed, and had no idea where she was because she could
not see. After failing to find the owners in hopes of prosecuting
them on animal cruelty charges, our rescue was contacted. It
seemed no one wanted to help this old girl and give her a chance.
Waverly has been seen by our veterinarian and had bloodwork,
urinalysis, and chest x-rays. She will be checked by a cardiologist
later this week for an EKG and echo-cardiogram to see if we
can give her some joy in her life with appropriate medication.
She is already responding to one heart medication and can now
stand and walk and sleep comfortably without coughing. She has
been cleaned up, her eyes look much better with daily medication,
and she is learning her way around her foster mom's home, yard
and back deck where she loves to
sun-bathe. Labwork and urinalysis happily showed no other senior
medical problems, so we hope by taking care of her heart needs
she will enjoy life with her foster mom for a long time.
We
are in need of kind folks who can donate to help with her immediate
medical care. If
you can spare any small donation, Waverly and our rescue family
will be very grateful for your loving support. If you would
like to make a donation, please send an email to Rescue Director
