Mallory:

Mallory is a very pretty petite cream & white Shih Tzu.  She is 3 years
old and currently weighs 13 lbs. Mallory was an emergency rescue from an
area shelter after she was found with a long-term eye ulceration that
ruptured due to an abusive owner's failure to provide medical care.  We
rushed Mallory to our vet directly from the shelter where she was
immediately taken into surgery to remove the eye.  Mallory also suffered
from starvation and badly infected ears.  Our little girl has recovered
tremendously since her surgery, adjusting very well to the loss of one
eye, and blossoming in her foster home.  Her ideal weight will be
approximately 15 lbs.  She is still a little shy and frightened of
strangers, but each day emerges a little more from her shell. She is
housebroken, wonderful on a leash, and a nice traveler in the car.  She
does well with other small dogs, but would be equally happy as an only
dog.  She likes to chase squirrels, so would probably not do well with
cats.

Mallory will need a quiet, loving and patient family who is willing to
spend time with her and help her overcome her fear and shyness with
strangers.  She will do best in an adult-only household, with some one
who is either retired, works from home, or works a maximum of 4 hours
daily.
